Game Recaps -
3/12/11 - Bulldogs 3, Evergreen 4 Shoot Out Loss The
JV team was also missing three key seniors who were in Costa Rica on their trip. Shane Wendt (#15) scored twice and
Jordan Gilreath (#23) scored once to lead North Valley to a tie at the end of regulation. In overtime, neither
team could score, so it went to a shoot-out where the Bulldogs came up short.
3/5/11 - Bulldogs 5,
Bellarmine White 3 Jordan Gilreath (#23) opened up the game with a quick goal on a pass from Kenny
Baltazar (#9). Jordan scored twice more, Kenny chipped in with a goal late, and Captain Bruce Kennedy (#21) put in an
"empty netter" as Bellarmine pulled their goalie to try and avoid their first loss of the season! It was quite
an emotional game for the JV Bulldogs!
2/26/11 - Bulldogs 2, Bellarmine White 6 Kenny
Baltazar (#9) and Jordan Gilreath (#23) each scored the only goals of the game for North Valley.
2/19/11
- Bulldogs 4, St. Lawrence 5 Lost this game in a shoot-out after a 3 minute sudden death overtime, very draining.
The four goals were scored by Christian Catalan (#88), Shane Wendt (#15), Jordan Gilreath (#23), and Kenny Baltazar (#9).
2/12/11 - Bulldogs 3, Bellarmine White 6 Jordan Gilreath (#23) had two goals
and Daniel Lee (#44) had his first of the season.
2/12/11 - Bulldogs 2, Bellarmine Columbia 4 Captain
Bruce Kennedy (#21) and Andrew Martinez (#45) each had a goal in this game.
2/5/11 - Bulldogs 2, St.
Lawrence 7
The JV Bulldogs once again faced off against their rival St. Lawrence and the outcome
was about the same as last week - a loss, but an improvement in play and another goal scored. Jordan Gilreath (#23)
scored one in the second period and Captain Bruce Kennedy (#21) scored during a power play. Christian Perez (Goalie,
#20) put up a strong fight in the nets as he faced 39 shots.
1/22/11
- Game 1 - North Valley 9 vs. Evergreen 1 SOG 39-10 North Valley The JV
team had the first of their double-header games with a great passing effort against the Evergreen team.
Shane Wendt (#15) scored a hat trick and Jordan Gilreath (#23) had two short-handed goals to help lead the JV Bulldogs
to their first win of the new season. Brent Winingar (#3) chipped in two goals and two assists as well. Jonathan
Popovici (#10) and Captain Bruce Kennedy (#21) both had a goal as well. Jonathan Popovici, Josh Ferreras, and Brent
Winingar all provided asssists.
1/22/11 - Game 2 - North Valley 1 vs. St. Lawrence
7 SOG 29-7 St. Lawrence The team had their second game of the
night against St. Lawrence and it was a tough loss both on the rink and off the rink. Josh Ferreras (#99) had
the only goal for North Valley in the game. St. Lawrence owned the game by out skating and out shooting the Bulldogs.
With a minute to go in the game, Brent Winingar (#3) was coming off the rink for a line change, but fell awkwardly as he came
to the bench - he broke his left arm in two places! Brent was taken to the Emergency Room and had surgery and a cast
put on - he will be out for about 12 weeks! If you see him around the rink or school, sign his cast, he earned it.
1/22/11 - North Valley 3 vs. Bellarmine 10 SOG
34-17 Bellarmine The JV team had a rough go of it this past Saturday night as they are still learning
how to "possess the puck" and get good passes to each other. The three goals were scored by Jordan Gilreath
(#23, 2) and Jon Popovici (#10,1). Christian Perez had a big workout in the net as he turned away 24 of 34 shots!
1/8 - North Valley 2, Bellarmine 8 SOG 24-16 Bellarmine
The JV team had two goals from Nathan Anderson in their first pre-season game of 2011. Shane
Wendt suited up and played in the goal for this game and did a fine job for his first ever time as a goalie.
